About ACSS
Aldergrove Community Secondary School is a comprehensive secondary school of over a thousand students with program initiatives that serve a wide range of student academic abilities. The school provides a supportive learning environment that gives an opportunity for success in academic and career programs for all students.
Some unique programs offered at Aldergrove Community Secondary School:
Students at Aldergrove Community Secondary School have a unique relationship with their school. It is the only secondary school in the Aldergrove area with its attendance area encompassing the community of Aldergrove and the surrounding rural farmlands. As a result of this, the community has built a strong sense of belonging and pride for “Aldergrove” students. It has created a campus that is a focal point for student both during and after school hours. The vast majority of local elementary school students will attend secondary school together. This provides students with the experience of a small town, while at the same time, having the proximity to the amenities of larger centers nearby.
Outside school hours, Aldergrove Community Secondary students from all backgrounds and ages mix together in a wide variety of multi-grade activities such as drama, music, and athletics. The Community School Program further strengthens this. Students view the school as an important part of their community and value the opportunities offered at the school. This is manifested in very low rates of vandalism and high participation rates in the array of co-curricular activities offered at the school.
