International Baccalaureate Programme
IB is a District Program in grade 11 and 12 that aims to produce a well-rounded student through a broad program of study. The full IB diploma is offered at R. E. Mountain in conjunction with an Honours Program for grades 8 to 10.
International Students Program
International students attending R.E. Mountain Secondary are offered a variety of opportunities to acquire English language skills, to learn about Canadian culture, to earn a Canadian graduation diploma, and to learn with students from different cultures. In addition to our required course offerings at Mountain, ISP students have the opportunity to receive specialized instruction in ESL classes to improve English skills.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are provided with the best possible learning environment, with sign language being primary mode of communication. Students, in conjunction with school, family, and community support, will attain individual educational goals using Provincial Learning Outcomes. Students will strive to develop literacy skills that will enable them to become self confident individuals who can make quality choices.
REMSS Hockey Academy
At R.E. Mountain, we offer an exclusive Hockey Academy, structured to provide individual skill development, as well as a focus on maintaining high academic standards. We promote both academic and athletic excellence. All students who participate in the Mountain Sport Academy or Mountain Hockey Academy are required to achieve and maintain a 73% cumulative average. Our school also has a hockey team that competes against other high schools within the District. This team is separate from the Academy, and competes after schools in the spring.
